Yoo-Hoo!

Yoo-hoo! Yeah, you. You...right there. Yes. I'm talking to you. Why do you come and read my blog and then not leave a comment? Are you shy? No blogger username to log in with? Stalking me? (hehehe).

Don't get me wrong--- I LOVE for people to read my blog. Anyone... EVERYONE! But I will also confess, I am a bloggy-comment-whore. It's true; and I'm told the first step to recovery is admitting I have a problem. So there. It's out.

Anyway, to ALL of my bloggy-followers... Thank you for stopping by and reading! But I'd like to know WHO YOU ARE!!! Perhaps YOU have a blog you'd like ME to read. And I am NOT selfish with the bloggy-comment-love. Trust me... I get the whole, "you gotta give love to get love" thing. I try to leave a comment on all the blogs I read.

So, please, come out of the shadows. Tell me about yourself. How long have you been following me? What brought you here? Did you run into me once upon a time over at SITS or BATW? Or perhaps I know you personally? From back home? Or maybe you found me through a blog of a blog of a blog of a blogger you know?

Or perhaps you had intentions of following me, looked once and then thought, "nah...not my cup of tea" and can't figure out how to "un-follow" me? It's ok... you can admit it. I am not naive enough to think that EVERYONE who stops by my blog will love it! (What's wrong with my blog? Why don't you love it? What's not to love?)

Anyway - I know other people do give-aways to bribe readers to come out of the woodwork and leave comments and such. Well, the only thing I really have to offer is ... well, er, um... not much, I'm afraid. I guess I could give you like all of my Subway points or my Cafe Rio card or something. I think I might have a crumpled up coupon for like a $1 off a frosty somewhere.

So, here's the challenge... Whether you are a frequent commentator or a Comment-Virgin, go ahead, and leave me some bloggy-comment love. Tell me how you found me (if you can remember) and what, if anything, you like about my blog.

And if YOU have a blog and I am not already a follower... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE gimme your URL!!! I LOVE ALL THINGS BLOG!

It's true...I realize I am demonstrating severe attention-seeking behavior... so... sue me! (or better yet... leave me a comment and tell me! hahaha!)

oh - and By the way... it says I have 72 published followers... Geesh! Is that accurate? I only harvest about 4-15 comments on any given post... go figure.

Comments That Inspire, Part Three

Ok - so, here is the last "blogisode" (I think I just made up a new word - feel free to use it.) of my "Comments That Inspire" Trilogy. I know this one was about a month ago, but I still crack myself up just thinking about it. (I know. I am a dork.)

Anyway, let me give you a little preface. My sister over at Am I Going Crazy? (click here for full post) had blogged about her lovely experience being called for Jury Selection. Now, you must picture this: a 7 1/2 month pregnant woman who is uncomfortable and has a hard time sitting AND has 4 boys (all under 5 years old) at home AND with only one vehicle AND whose children had just started Little League AND who already had a dr. appt scheduled, due to said pregnancy, being called for jury selection. Surely, the judge would take one look at her and say, "you're excused", right? Ahhh, no. Didn't happen. Instead, the result was a very bad day which led to a very funny post (sorry, Sarah). Anyway, as it turned out, people were being excused from jury duty based on what they wrote on their form - not so much about what they had to say.

[next time] on the questionnaire you write this, "i don't like no one. peeples make me angree. i only like the whites, like me. i no like none of dem ol peeples neither. i dont like men. dey is pigs. once i was arestid but it aint my fault." then when they get to you, you just start grabbing your belly and jumping up and down a little. if they don't notice that, start leaning forward and moaning. if all else fails, pour water down your pants and then stand up and yell, "i think my water broke..."if anything - at least SQUIRM in your seat, TONS. Act agitated. Act uncomfortable. IT shouldn't be a stretch... cuz you DO have a hard time sitting all day. Maybe they'll get a replacement for you.

oh - and also - next time on your form write, "i loves the govment. if it aint for dem, my babies an i dont eat. love dem food stamp cards y'all gives out..."

Ya, you'll probably get excused.

Comments that Inspire, Part Two

Once again, one of Yaya's posts (Click here for full post) totally had me cracking up at myself as I wrote her my comment. This was in response to her 6 Word Saturday which read:

"Work filled weekends suck big time."
(office cleaning job and workshop leader)

Emmap said...

Well, if you woulda done what our cleaners did:

1) steal $20 from petty cash out of a desk drawer

and

2) cook some stinky pork-intestines slathered in salsa in our microwave

all in one night, Then...

A) you woulda had more fun

and

B) you wouldn't have to do that work-filled weekend sucky job anymore, cuz you would have been fired!

hahahahaha..... o geesh... it's like 12:49 in the freaking morning, which means this appears five times more funny than it really is, causing me to chortle and snort like a maniac... oh, I slay me...

Comments That Inspire, Part 1

So - do you ever leave a comment on someone else's post that leads you to think, "hmmm, I could totally blog about this"? Or perhaps you leave a witty comment on someone else's post and you totally crack yourself up over it, and perhaps you're like me and love a wee-bit o' attention and think, "this is too funny not to share!" No? Oh, all righty then... guess it's just me.

I admit, sometimes I just totally crack myself up. Hey - does it matter if I'm the only one laughing? Does it matter that my snorting might even get so loud, the 4LeggedCreature raises just one eyebrow in my direction? Not really, as it usually occurs between the hours of midnight and 2 am.

Ok - with that being said, the next few posts will be based off of comments I have left on YOUR blog posts. Here is the first one for today...

This was in response to Yaya's post (in part) on Thank You notes and how she wrote her granny to thank her for the ear muffs: Click here for entire post

thank-you notes: you are supposed to thank them for the Past (event/gift/etc.), mention how it will benefit you and somehow tie it to the future. works for personal or business: if you simply say, "thanks for the gift" it doesn't work. Stating "ear muffs" makes it "personal" and stating you plan to use them states the benefits AND ties it to the future all in one. Here's how a business one works:

Thanks so much for agreeing to meet me for lunch today. (thanks for the event). I had the pleasure getting to know you better and learning what I can do to help you achieve your business goals. (mention benefits). I look forward to working with you soon. (tie it to the future).

Dear Ex Husband,

Thank you for the divorce. I have learned and grown so much from this experience. I look forward to what my new-found freedom will bring me.

Sincerely,
Me.

Can you find the three main elements here?
