My Favorite Things: Wish List
The song made popular by Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music is among favorites at Christmas Time. About 10 years ago, Oprah started having "My Favorite Things" episodes around the Holidays and audience members would win prizes off of Oprah's "Favorite Things" list. Well -- I'm no Oprah, so I shan't be handing out new cars, the season's trendiest cashmere sweaters, or the juiciest pears Harry & David have to offer, but I will be going over a few favorites off my "If money were no object, I'd buy myself one of these" wish list.
Without further adieu, my top 5 Favorite [material] Things, in no particular order...
1) I've never taken a cruise and one of these days, I am going to. This one is on the list for sure. As far as the destination, I don't know that I am all too picky, although I've always wanted to visit Alaska so, an Alaskan Cruise would definitely be a two-fer. Of course, I think a Disney Cruise would be pretty sweet too! :)
2) I've played the piano since the age of 4 and for me, it's one of those things that will forever be a part of my life. Currently, I have a digital piano. The advantages are that it's easy to move; it's still a full-size keyboard, the keys are weighted just like a traditional piano - so it plays the same; it has a volume control and an output for headphones and many other bells and whistles. The down side is - well, it's not a Baby Grand Piano.
3) New House. It doesn't even have to be brand-spanking new. Just something newer than where I live now, and more importantly something that is mine. I can't tell you how much I am sick of "old and falling apart" or landlords that don't return phone calls. Plus I just love the smell of new carpet! My "Dream" house doesn't even have to be huge (that's a lot of cleaning!), it just has to be big enough for the fam, the baby grand piano (see above), have a big enough corner for me to catch up on my scrapbooking, a master suite (see below) and it definitely has to have enough room to have fun! I want people to call my house the party house!
4. A Tub for the Girls! Okay, as previously mentioned, I want a master suite. And the most important thing about the Master Suite is that it has to have a private bath and the tub has to be one I can actually soak in! (And by "soak" I mean the "girls" too!) This tub in this picture is heavenly...
5. Okay, I'm not a pet-person, per se. I mean, I've had dogs and cats growing up and my kids have had various pets too. So, I'm not opposed to them by any means; I just don't feel like I HAVE to have an animal. That being said, I do want one of these. A Mini Yorkie. This dog would be MY dog -- she would love me and she would be spoiled. These dogs are known to be a little high maintenance, so there is no way I'd go out and get one with everything going on in my life at the moment. However, one day when all of the kidlets are grown and gone and I'mma need someone to love on, she is it. Isn't she soooo cute? Yeah -- I lubbers her already.
Well, these are just a FEW of My Favorite Things off of my dream wish list. What are some of yours?

Some Of My Favorite Stupid Questions...
Like my PawPaw always said... "You's ask a stupid question, you's gonna git a stupid answer!"
I have heard some of these before and **yes** I know... some of them are HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE... Nevertheless, I giggled shamelessy. I've posted these on my FB, so I figured I'd post here too...
Without Further Adieu, Some of My Favorite Stupid Questions...
- Can fat people go "skinny-dipping"?
- What might you get if you breed a Bulldog with a Shitzu? Just wondering...
- Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but not to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?
- Why do they call it taking a dump? I mean, technically isn't it "leaving a dump?"
- If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?
- Have you ever imagined a world without any hypothetical situations?
- If a person with multiple personalities threatens suicide, is that considered a hostage situation?
- If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
- Only I can prevent forest fires? Isn't that a lot of pressure?
- Call me radical, but why can't we talk on elevators again?

Moments that Make My Heart Melt
A moment wherein my heart is in my throat and my head is in my chest. My breathing becomes rapid, even if only for a minute, and the world, though spinning furiously in space about me, seems to come to a pause, and the noise in my head is muted from all other noises. And I am just there, in the moment, even if only for a moment.
I feel "melty"...I am in awe...I have to remind myself...to breathe...
Moments when...
I am taking my nightly run and see the sun setting on the valley below. The purple and blue hues are magnificent... breathe...
I see a family of deer. And I see a lot where I run... still... everytime, it gets me... breathe...
I am holding a sleeping baby.... breathe...
I am on the trails, and I look up, and suddenly realize, I am in the MOUNTAINS... there is a freakin Mountain like Right.There. ... breathe...
I see an elderly couple holding hands...... breathe...
I am told I am loved... breathe...
I hear certain songs that take me back to another "melty" moment.... breathe...
I listen to my children play together or compliment each other from the next room. ... breathe...
I bite into food that I have already imagined would taste so good, and yet nothing I imagined could even ever compare to how savory and delicious and scrumptious it is.... breathe...
The wind blows, and the trees sway and it's like the flowers are speaking to me.... breathe...
I see a piece of art and it draws me in... like, "how did you know that is what I was feeling today?"... breathe...
At night, I look up at the stars, and have to do a double-take because I forget how magnificent they are. ... breathe...
The waves crash against the shore.... breathe...
One of my children struggles, and cries. It's like my heart stops, and I want to stop their pain or their fear or their frustration. Their meekness and tenderness remind me just how fragile they can be and that gives me reason to ponder...melts my heart... and I usually end up crying too.... breathe...
A photograph of someone from my past; a look into their eyes, even though the look is from long ago, the feeling is now...real... and I want to create the moment all over again.... breathe...
He touches his palm to my cheek... it's so tender, so kind, so loving, and so... intimate.... BREATHE...
The moment right before a gentle kiss...even if I know the kiss is coming...
BREATHE, Emma...BREATHE...
These are some of the things that get me excited or make me feel melty... What about you?
