Sunday Sentiments: A Child's Prayer

There is nothing more precious than when a child learns to pray. Everytime the children at church sing this song, I get choked up...

Heavenly Father, are you really there?
And do you hear and answer every child's prayer?
Some say that Heaven is far away,
but I feel it close around me as I pray.

Heavenly Father, I remember now
something Jesus told disciples long ago,
"Suffer the children to come to me."
Father in prayer I'm coming now to Thee.

Pray, He is there.
Speak, He is listening.
You are His child;
His love now surrounds you.

He hears your prayer.
He loves the children.
Of such is the Kingdom,
The Kingdom of Heaven.

I taught Tristan "as I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Let angels watch me through the night, until I wake with morning light. Amen" He is so darn cute bc he can't pronounce half of those words but I love it every single night.

This is so sweet! I just loved it.
It reminded me of something from my childhood and bough back lots of memories that I thought that I had forgotten.
Thank you!

I love this song. I love when after the first and second verses are sung, they are sung together. Not only is the message beautiful, but how the melodies intertwine is beautiful.
