Interview With a Blogger: One Sister

One Sister, Two Sister, Three Sister, Four. Sounds like a Seuss Rhyme, with Antics Galore!

Nahhh... not really. Just another Featured Blogger. This one just happens to be one of four sisters of mine (of which only 3 are bloggers).

PuphiGirl is the oldest. She is the one I see the most, as she only lives about 60 miles away. I always tell people we live close enough to each other to get together every now and again, but far enough away that we don't drive each other crazy! Yeah...some of my friends are jealous of that.

PuphiGirl is crazy busy. Busy raising FOUR kids, TWO brand-new puppies, married, busy in church, busy with their summer BBQ business, and she is in school on top of all of that. Honestly, I am usually too proud to admit this, but I am jealous of her at times. I am jealous that she is almost done with school. I am jealous that she has the ability to not care what others think. I am jealous that she and her husband have a great relationship. It's true. They finish each other's sentences, make each other laugh (or her practically pee her pants). They still give each other those knowing looks... y'know the kind I'm talking about - that indicate they are on the same page with each other. I envy that. They "work". And she has this laugh - maybe it's a guffaw even - that is contagious. I mean, I just wanna be funny when I am around her just to get that contagious laugh going! My kids always tease me that when my sister and I get together I should pre-order oxygen for the "event", as there is usually a lot of wheezing going on. By the way - it's funny how growing up we couldn't be more alike and yet more different from each other at the same time, if that makes any sense. She's 11 months older than me! (Way to Go Mom & Dad!) Ok, buckle up, here we go!!!
____________________________

1) My bloggy profile name is Puphigirl.

2) I am emmap's older sister.

3) you can find MY blog here: Puphi's Postings

4) You should definitely check out MY blog because... I am sometimes funny, sometimes insightful and I have links to better blogs than mine.

5) I think Blogging has helped our family grow closer. It is almost like our version of a family {Circle Letter}

6) I blog because...It is a creative outlet, I want people to know what is going on in my life, and I like receiving comments because it is like getting validation for my thoughts and opinions.

7) If I could have been blogging ten years ago, I would have been telling you all about.....my work as a para-educator at the middle school, being pregnant with my 3rd child, and my calling on the Homemaking committee.

8) The most technological advanced thing I own or I can do is that I know how to set the VCR. I also know how to set the DVR. I know how to do things on both PCs and MACs (my classmates only know PCs).

9) Dad was raised "Amish"... My "Amish" phrase is ... "ah, Ich kann nicht glauvuh!" which means, "I can't believe it!" But may favorite sentence is one my brother says, "Kum butz mich mom, ich bin fahtich" I'll let him explain.

10) Something Emmap would probably never tell you about herself is...that she is bossy. As a child she would boss us kids and try to organize us. This led to such nicknames as Captain of the Door, and Captain of the Vitamins. Our uncle would call her "Mother's Little Helper" or "Little Mother"
***editor's note: I wouldn't say that I am bossy... at least not so much anymore... just a good "delegator" :)

and finally,

11) One of my best family memories is...when our family was camping at Turkey Run. We were hiking on a trail. Emmap and I had gone ahead. We then hid on a rocky ledge to surprise our father and grandma when they came past us on the trail. I liked when we went camping, which we did a lot since we couldn't afford hotel rooms with 7 children. I also remember when we were at Mounds Park and our sister fell in mud getting totally covered. I like the swimming, the hiking, the campfire, but I do not like the spiders.

Ok -- leave her some comment love here, and then feel free to go over and hang out at her place HERE

I totally agree about the laugh. And yeah, she is really busy. She's always been a person who was involved in a lot of stuff though. I think she just has a lot of interests and enjoys keeping busy. Good interview.

i'll add to that. puphi is fairly easy going. i used to visit her a lot when i was in college and only four hours away. we used to have game marathons at her house where we would play games for about 4 hours straight. usually the same game, or maybe two. then we'd do a different game the next day. i told my roommate that i was excited to visit because we were going to have a game marathon. i talk pretty fast and it made her wonder what a "gay marathon" was. i told puphi and we had a pretty good laugh.

Thanks for the kudos, it made me misty-eyed.

And of course Sweet Sassy Molassy would think my husband is THE BOMB, that's who knows him best.

Puphi girl set the bar... or should I say she was our guinea pig and if it worked for her we would continue with the others. Boy did we (I) make a lot of mistakes and yet, she and the others managed to grow up inspite of it.
I am so very pleased with Puphi as an adult. I love her, I love her husband, I love her kids. I love her humor. I love her honesty. I even love the way she cries when she tries so hard not to. There have been so many firsts with her because she is the oldest and yet I still smile broadly when she accomplishes good things. Lots of love to her, MOM
