Wanted: Libel & Slander!

Ok, sometimes I blog to share ideas. Sometimes I need to get some feedback. Sometimes I want to tell you a funny story. And sometimes I just need to vent. Well today, my bloggy friends, you are in for a real treat. This isn't just a vent... no, this is the MOTHER LODE of all vents.

Here is my part:
2/24/2010. 12:50am. I am tired. I am frustrated. I just spent 5 hours in a very hard chair and all on ONE class. The sad thing is, there is still more work for that class that needs to be done for this week. My COMMUNICATION instructor is a HORRIBLE communicator. Classic, right? And, she uses an online "assignment" window, a "learning modules" window and the downloadable "calendar" to post all of the assignments. So, instead of posting all assignments in 1 place, we have to check all three areas and it is a pain. I always feel like I am going to miss something.

Wait! That's not all! There's more!

She "doesn't like the way the text book is set up" **said in hoity-toity voice** so she combines chapters into "units". So, this week, we are studying Chapters 3 & 7 and half of 4. Last week it was chapters 2 and 6. WEIRD! As a result I ALWAYS feel lost in that class! I stress about it all day. THEN on top of all of that,we have a GROUP Project due! I am like, Holy Popcorn, Batman! It's an ONLINE CLASS! We take it because of the convenience of it being ONLINE and we can work at OUR convenience and NOT have to go somewhere. She "Strongly encourages us to meet outside of class..." I am like, "HELLO! ANY time we meet will be OUTSIDE of class-- because it is an ONLINE CLASS!" **sigh**

...thanks for letting me vent... I am highly frustrated tonight just in case ya couldn't tell ;)

Ok - here is where YOU come in:
This is where you get to do *more* then just the head bobbin', three-snap-finger-zorro action. Are you picking up what I'm putting down? I mean, "my mama didn't raise no dummy!"

Here's where you "get" to VALIDATE my frustrations by adding your own 2 bits! (Of course, I do ask that you keep it "clean"... y'know... I got kids who read this.) :)

Can I get a "Oh no she di-unt!"? How about a "You go girl!" Or even an "Mmm-hmm. You tell it like it is, girl! You know dat's fo' real! Now get on which yer bad self and don't let some hussy-teacher be gettin all up in yer grits! She done axin for some trouble, messin which you like dat!"

Okay... I *might* have gotten carried away with that last one...

Does your school do teacher evaluations? Hopefully you get to fill one out and then tear her apart in it. Maybe you should leave an anonymous message for her about how ridiculous she is. I mean you don't want your grade to be effected.

Hello. I am TOTALLY with you! I also agree with greenolive about the teacher evaluations.

Sounds like a teacher on a power trip!

Jed has an instructor that is HIGHLY educated...and uses words in his lectures like: Irregardless.

Just kills me.

I guess I have no advice except for maybe send the teacher an email and explain that the reason you take online is because you aren't able to go IN for a class, or for extra "group" projects. Maybe she'll make an exception. That is REALLY stupid for an online class. REALLY STOOOOPID.

K, your last paragraph reminded me of Modern family. Where the one 10 yr old kid was all, "my parents always tell me to stop talking black. I mean, I don't even know what that means? Is that where you ad an 'izzle' to the end of every word?"

Then the sisters yells at him, "They said stop talking BACK you idiot."

BAHAHA Sorry for going in a whole different direction there. ;)

Does she not realized that people may take an online class because they do not live in the vicinity of the college? I think it is ridiculous to ask for group projects. There should be a teacher evaluation toward the end of the course. I know BYU has them, and some of my courses even have a mid-term evaluation of teachers.

This sounds pretty ridiculous. A class that's meeting Outside is no longer Online... lol
Maybe she was bit by the Cyber Bug or something...:)

You've got a wonderful blog here. I invite you to add it to a contest over at my Website.

Alas and alack...just play the game and don't sweat it. I know it sounds easy, but it is not.

I had an online teacher (and he was also in-class for other classes) and he'd do podcasts and write huge instructions and analysis and in one of his classes we had to start a blog with a partner (and my partner was literally mentally handicapped). It was all so much for a Shakespeare class.

Yeah, we do teacher evals too. And actually, this is the 3rd online class I've taken that has required group projects. So, no getting out of it. Mostly I am just irritated with her horrible communication skills, and its a communication class! This too shall pass...

Tell her you are not currently in the country so can't participate in group.

I have come across a lot of teaches like this in my time, and I sometimes used to wonder why bother with text books at all!
Did she/he actually write the book, then thought, no, this is a bad idea, I'll just go back to teaching before I started writing!

I think I know why this teacher is in charge of online courses, so that the students can't riot and walk out on her during class. The whole situation sounds ridiculous, Emma. I'm so sorry! Near the end of my college life, I just kept telling myself, "Jump though the hoops, Megan. You can do it. Just keep jumping through those stupid hoops."

The hoops are stupid, but you're almost through another one, Emma. Keep jumping through those hoops.

Let's find out where she lives and communicate a little TP.

Doesn't she realize when you take different contexts you won't make sense? It sounds like she's trying to make it harder than it needs to be. And a little on the power trippy side.
