Baby Name List

Nope. Not prego over here. Not even close. But I came across this list in an old drawer recently, and thought it was interesting. "Baby Names I Like".

Some of these names are names I had on my list from like when I was 16 years old and doodled Eric's name all over my notebook, just *knowing* that we would end up together one day. Some of the names are names I had toyed with during each of my three pregnancies. Some were names I really, really liked because they were family names. I just couldn't cross them off, because I felt like they were never even given a fair shot. Others are names I considered using in stories.

Nevertheless, I find it interesting to see what I thought were "cool" names once upon a time. I still do like some of these names. And some of them I would NEVER even consider now. Too funny...

When I was a wee little girl, for some reason I loved the name Bianca. I think that was a mouse's name from The Rescuers? Anyway, I thought I would name my first daughter Bianca and my first son Spencer.

Ooh - I also remember when I was about 15, Eric & I had even discussed our "future" children's names! LOL! Our first son was going to be "Mason Kale" and our first daughter's name would be "Corinne Lexine". Hahaha! Not even close. Though I found out years later Eric *DID* name his first son Mason. Coincidence? lol!

What names did you always like? or do you like now? What did you think you would always name your baby and now you laugh at the thought of it? What names are on your "future" list?

My mom told me that when she was young she thought the most perfect names in the world were Gilbert and Delores and she was going to use them for her own children. I'm so glad she changed her mind about those names. ;-)

What is interesting about names, is that knowing a certain person can make or break a name for you.

I have always like the names Joshua, Sebastian, and Alexander for boys. For girls I have always like Kimberly, Dawn, and Lynnette.

It's kind of interesting to think about. I don't remember would I liked but I have a feeling that my first granddaughters are going to be Grace (from my oldest) and Sarah (from my youngest...all her invisible friends are Sarah).

I was going to name my first girl Leigh-Maughan, now aren't you glad I didn't? Can you imagine the kindergarten teacher with that one! And I was going to name my first boy Abram Michael but that didn't happen either. I guess when the babies got here they didn't look like those names.

I used to want to name a daughter Catherine. But...no. Right now, if we have a girl it's Evie (sounds like Eave-e) and if we have a boy...oh man, I had a hard enough time with Isaac's name!

Not having had any children of my own, this is pretty tough! I have a niece called Ellie, but I like names that can't be shortened.
Huxley is the name of a cartoon pig we have here!
I like James, but not Jim or Jimmy.
My Grandmother was called Gyillis, and I loved that, but then I would keep changing my names every day!
My Mother was Sarah Elizabeth, but I'm afraid that I cannot write my Fathers name, simply because I would prefer to keep my identity private, but it is none of the names that I use!

Ooooh names are so hard...especially when two people have to agree on them.

My oldest was going to be Brady at one point.----- HA! Sounds so funny now.

Boys:
Jackson (but not Jack, and now too popular), Gray, Miles, Chase

Girls:
Lorraine, Lori, Maize, Chaise

But none of these will be used on my kids because of the earlier comment on two people having to agree.

I believe the name list is only made by females. And often it is dreamed up at quite an early age.
