Little Mis-Behavin? Me?

Saw this sign posted behind the counter at the Sunshine Cafe last week.
I laughed when I read it - and of course had to take a pic for the blog. Perhaps it's because I don't consider myself a "well-behaved woman". Don't get me wrong; I'm not like some "evil" woman or trouble-maker or anything. But definitely not some bun-sporting, wool-wearing prude either.

I showed it to three friends of mine. Here were their reactions:

"That's Awesome! Totally an Emma-Blog-Thing!"

"Hmmm [complete with furrowed brow]. What does that mean?"

Then this from a man...

"Perhaps making history isn't always a good thing."

What the Freak?

What do you think? Funny sign? Poor Taste? Women should be proper? WHAT??? TELL ME NOW!!! I'm dying to know!!!

My first reaction was that had to be written by a man. My second reaction was that's right. If you want to effect change, make your mark on the world, whatever, you have to color outside the lines, not just follow all the rules.

hehehe... i don't know who the initial quote belongs to, but it was written up on the board by the women that run the cafe. there are basically 3-4 women that run it. they are slightly on the sassy side... just slightly.

I think it means that sometimes, you have to make a little noise...be assertive:-)

I believe it was Marilyn Monroe who said that first.

Point being though, I think it's a great quote. But I would. Because I'm not 'well-behaved'. And I, too, do NOT wear buns OR wool! lol

I think that's why I love you that much- cuz you're not well-behaved either and we 'get that' about each other!? lol

I like it a lot. And it doesn't totally discount well-behaved women, it gives them a chance with the word "seldom". Besides, when I read the title of the blog I thought, that could be Emma's nickname, "Little Miss-Behavin'" cute huh?

i think that sign rocks and need to be made into some letters and put on a tile to hang up in the house----totally! (there are those sights where you can make your own sayings in vinyl lettering....this is a needed one!)
i like it. that saying is going right by my computer! ;-)

Take this with a grain of salt because, well...it's comin' from ME but HECK NO women shouldn't be proper! No chance of being a stepford wife over here at my house! I may make bread and granola but I'm far from behaved and I like it that way! Behave=boring.

I like that sign. Step out of the mold, be different, take a chance, and go for it! That's what I take from the quote.

I can't think of a well-behaved woman that's made history....

I love this quote! I have a t-shirt that says this. My mom bought it for me... she knows her daughter well. :)

That has long since been my motto. I try to live by it and remind myself of it when someone calls me a bitch--at least I am DOING something.

I think it is great! Well behaved women do make history...Helen Keller. But the ones who think out of the box are the Legends.
