X Doesn't Mark the Spot

I got my taxes done early this year, and was relieved I would not have to pay anything. I started making a list of things I needed to pay or things I really wanted; ways to spend that money. After paying some bills I had a certain amount of money left over. I really wanted to just go for it and buy that Kimber Ultra II Carry. But I also needed a new laptop. Decisions, decisions.

In the meantime - the time between the filing and the moola arriving - my laptop went from bad to worse, to completely kaput. 'Nuff said... the gun would have to wait a little longer. I was getting a new laptop.

Incidentally, when a pop-up comes up, offering totally filthy things I cannot bring myself to even mention here, DO NOT "x" OUT. I did this and it actually installed a virus. Then - to make matters worse, it appeared the only way out of it was to click on the link (provided) and PURCHASE spyware protection. I know now that what I should have done was right-clicked on the internet page icon on the bottom taskbar and selected "CLOSE".

Too late. I got the virus. Luckily the new computer was on its way. Big-D was kind enough to help me transfer my needed/wanted files from the old to the new without transferring the virus. When I told him I hadn't been able to read any blogs for over a week, I think he actually gasped. He may have even threw in an awfully sarcastic, "Oh No!" as in, "Oh no! What will happen in the blogosphere if you're not out there blogging?" Well - as I explained to him, luckily I had 2 weeks worth of posts already scheduled. He gave the appropriate "Whew".

So, yes... My computer broke, and I am sorry that I have not been as diligent in following each of your blogs as I would like to have been.

And yes... I got a new laptop; much more practical than the gun. Besides, maybe I'll get a shotgun instead. I have been eyeing the Remington 870 - Youth size, though...

And yes... I had my own personal "geek squad" to my rescue, thanks to Big-D.

And finally, Yes...I will do my best to start catching up and reading on what I missed out on.

Thanks for your patience.

Stink! luckily when our computer goes down we have a back up, a laptop. Sometimes that is finicky too but we manage.

I didn't know you were a gun-totin' chick! Every mans dream! Or at least every gun-lovin' man loves a woman who knows which end of the gun is dangerous. But better get it sooner rather than later before they're not allowed to be sold anymore!

I hate computer viruses! These people need to get a girlfriend. We had a virus about three weeks ago. Took us a week to get rid of it. Then we bought protection.

Sorry about your computer issue, but glad it is fixed.

I didn't know about the right clicking, thanks for sharing:)

At least you'll get more use out of the laptop than out of the gun...right?
