Really Random Thoughts

Ok - so have you ever seen one of those digital marquees? Y'know the ones... The black screen with the red words that scroll across? That is how I describe my thoughts some days. Thoughts go across my mind and a second later another different, totally random thought will enter and "scroll across".

Most times I just sort of keep these things to myself, for fear of sounding psychotic. Nonetheless, here is one example of when I didn't.

One day last week... Big-D & I were watching the game on TV...

I suddenly blurt out, "If I died, would you attend my funeral?"
He looks at me a little strangely and says, "Well, I would for sure call your parents."
I replied, "Well - for the record, I would want you to attend my funeral."
"I'd attend your funeral." He states, again looking a little weirded out.

"If you died, would you want me to attend your funeral?" I ask.
"Once I am dead - I don't care what anyone does with my body or who attends my funeral."
"Well," I declare. "I will attend your funeral."
"Sounds good," he says. I think he wasn't really sure what to say.

"So, do you think that Dogs & Cats understand each other when they growl and hiss at each other?" I ask.
"Ummm," Big-D stammers. "I dunno?"
"Just wondered."

"But if I did die, you would miss me right?" I question.
"Of course I'd miss you," Big-D responds.
"Good," I reply. "Cuz I'd miss you."

2 minutes pass

"You're not going to die are you?" Big-D asks.
"Eventually," I say. "But not anytime soon...unless I get hit by a bus or something. I mean I guess it's outta my hands at this point."

You probably scared the heck out of him! He probably thought you were telling him you had a disease or something. Poor guy! :)

I feel for Big D like I feel for my hubby. Sometimes we just gotta ask these things though.

And for the record: I'd attend your funeral. ;)

i'd attend your funeral. and i also think that cats and dogs understand eachother, insomuch that they can understand animal behavior.

Don't you hate it when thoughts like that enter your mind? I start thinking why am I thinking about this? I have days like that where all kinds of strange things pop into head.
Have a good week.

My brain does stuff like that too. When it happens, you just have to get it out:-)

Sounds like some of the conversations that my hubby and I have. lol We're both pretty random, though, so it's not just me. ;0)

Thanks for giving me a chuckle this morning.

Oh my gosh, that was funny. My husband would just look at me and say, "Dude, the game is on, I am not pausing for this conversation." I am still laughing. Thanks!

You probably gave the poor guy a heart attack. He probably thought you were trying to find a good way to tell him you were dying for heck sake:) But, for the record...if you're keeping track, I would be at your funeral for sure!!

Stop where you! Drop everything. I'm on my way. You are seriously sounding like YARM13YOL and that's not good. 13 is not a good age.

Or...

You sound like the 83 year old I work with...thats not good either.

Oh Emma, you are too funny. I have a hard time keeping up with my own train of thought like that. I feel sorry for my husband, because he never knows what he'll get when he interrupts my "streaming banner" or whatever you call it.

I just want you to know that when I found out you were the guest blogger on BATW the week before me, I told Debbie she was cruel and heartless making me follow you. ;-)

Just so you know... I will be attending and I will probably even cry. Yea, I bet I will. Not just a few tears either. I will cry bucket loads. You know...it doesn't even matter which side I am on. If I am still alive (doubtful) I will cry because I will miss you. If I am on the other side I will cry as I welcome you home. So now you know.

I'll attend your funeral as long as I don't have to give the eulogy.

Okay..I stumbled onto your blog by way of another blog by way of another blog...yada, yada, yada..but so glad I did! Because you, my dear, are quite "snarky", and snarky is something I love!! =)

I do have a question, if you have time to stop by my blog and offer an answer...where do you get the "I belong" button for the blog??? I want one!! (obviously because I'm LDS, not just because I think the pretty building is cool!)

Is Big "D" still around after that one or did he run into the night thinking what have I gotten myself into?

I do that as well But we are in bed and Jared is tired and I want to talk.....then I get mad at him because he won't answer(asleep) the dumb questios I ask!

So, what game were you watching? Who were you rooting for? You were watching 'the' game so it must have been big but Utah has no football team(pro) so it must have been the Jazz. Am I right? Why do I care?

I can get going on a tangent too. But I tend to sieze on some part of what someone will say and it will fester till I know the answer. What game you were watching has nothing to do with your post, yet it will bother me that you did not be more specific. Well, now I admitted one of MY faults!

Have a great day! I have not been around much lately and seems you have garnered a larger following as of late. Just remember us little guys when you are rubbing elbows with the rich and famous!

I hate that there is no spell check for comments!

Geez, and I guess you could have been watching college football, you have a lot of them up there!

Seriously..I've been reading some of your past posts and you have had me in stitches!!
Anyhoo, I'm not originally from IN, but we've been here in the South-Central part for the past 9 years (about 70 miles south of Indy)...good place to raise a family =)

I think that is why guys are always afraid..... Do I look alright in this dress? Complete silence from the guy, what is the correct response....it is always a trap for them cause of that running red thought line. Twenty thousand thoughts going across that screen and we only vocalize one..... Big-D was a good sport especially during a soprting event.

Oh... did you start to cry after that Emma?

-Wait. Are you dating him now? Did I miss something?? Kind of felt chemistry there but...???

Well, let's just enjoy the moment.
