Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Once upon a time there was a lovely lady. She met a handsome man. He flashed her that all-too knowing little smirk of his, and she batted her eye lashes. She was coming off the night shift, and he was ready to start his day shift at the local hospital. The regular meeting at the time clock, the familiar smirk and consistent batting of the eyelashes finally led to a conversation and breakfast at the hospital cafeteria. Romantic, I know... Then, eventually, like a year-ish later, they got married.
And then, almost as soon as humanly possibly the commencement of their large family began. It was literally one right after the other after the other. Until there were 7 GOR-GEOUS chillens in only 8 short years. (Can you guess which one is me? Betcha can't guess!! Betcha can't figure out which one is me -- the one who LOVES attention!!! hahaha!)

Then those chillens grew, and left the nest and got married. Then came the grand-kidlets (like 17 0r 18 or so... who's counting?)

They spend their days working, She at nights at the hospital as an RN, and he away, on the road doing who-knows-what, for whatchamacallit, or something like that. (Does anyone really know what he does...exactly?)

He comes home on the weekends, and they still have Date Nights - EVERY week, unless he's away. And he's been away for like almost a month now... in Vancouver...working, providing support for bus companies at the Olympics. He gets to travel a lot for work. Sometimes near and sometimes far. Sometimes she gets to go with (like Hawaii!).

Well, Mom & Dad - you're pretty great in my book. There isn't nearly enough space on this post to tell you all of the reasons I love you and look up to you. But suffice it to say, I do.

Happy 38 Years of Marriage!!! And Many More!!!

I think I know the secrets behind their successful marriage. Good looks and personality. I remember Dad coming to my first grade class and all the girls thought he was cute. Then when Samuel was a teenager I remember hearing girls thinking Dad was handsome and Samuel would probably look like him in his older years. Dad even got asked out to prom. Ha ha ha.
Also when I was a teenager I man in the singles group had his eye on Mom, but he didn't know she was already taken. He was surprised that she was the mother of teenagers because he thought she looked too young. She still doesn't look her age. I'm hoping that inherited. Plus everyone says I look just like her so we know she's gorgeous. Then personality. They both have so much charm and charisma. You can't help but love them. So when you put these two together you get two hot people who can't seem to keep there hands off of one another and then you add how much fun they are and they're just having a great time together. There you go. Successful marriage.

When Kyle saw the picture of all of us on the boat, he was surprised at how much I look like Mom in the photo. You just add dark curly hair and it's me.

Hey greenolive, thanks for describing my marriage, but what about Mom and Dad?

Hey puphigirl I guess the good looks and personality can work for you too but not your hubby so much. Ha ha j/k. The theory fits with you two too.
