Well, Well...What Have We Hair?

So Susie at Susie's Homemade (click here) does these posts, "Tackling ________" and she blogs about whatever current project she is tackling. She is always a gem and posts her before and after pics and describes what and how she accomplished the task at hand. It can be organizing a closet, building a planter or decorating for the holidays.

Anyway - last week, she did her Tackling Easter segment. At the end of her post she asked her bloggy followers what WE had tackled. I laughed - out loud (It was 12:31 am, after all) and like a brat responded the only thing I tackled that day was to shave my legs. [pausing] I guess you had to be there.

Anyway, that made me think about my unsightly growth and shaving all together. I know some women probably shave every day. Some don't but probably don't need to either. But what about those women out there like me? They shave in the morning and end up with a "five o'clock shadow" by dinner time. My legs sprout unsightly black hairs - like a little forest. And it isn't like men's facial hair, wherein the longer they leave their "scruff" the softer it gets. Nope - trust me. I tried it. In fact, I get so "shave-lazy" some winters and only shave on Sundays - before church. And the days in between... no softening. More like sandpaper.

I have been getting better though. I enjoy wearing skirts to work. so, I have been forcing myself to wear the skirts in the winter so I shave more often. Of course, there have been those times in which I didn't have the time to shave, so the black stockings came out. (She didn't!) [Oh, yes. Yes I did!]

So let's have it... gimme some hairy leg confessionals! Surely I am not the only one... am I?
What do you do? Do you shave everyday? Just on days your attire will reveal your legs?

Lol!
I hate shaving. I do it as little as possible, once maybe twice a week. The husband is used to it by now and doesn't say anything anymore!

How can we be from the same family? My leg hair if blonde and fine and it doesn't grow back very fast at all. I only have to shave once a week and in the winter I might even wait a little longer than that. But don't worry you out-do me with all of your other genes.

I wore polyester pants on a daily basis for work, I think they melt hair off your legs so I would shave only once in a while.
Since I haven't worked since August~the hair is coming back :(

I know gross!

I hate shaving and do it as little as possible...which is too often. I have forgone a skirt in favor of pants before just so I don't have to do til the next day :)

You may want to try the creams. They have the hair grow back at a little slower rate. I little smelly and maybe a rash, but hey, nothing is perfect.

My mother did not have much leg hair at all. I have some, but you must have genes of your own.

I have chicken skin on my legs and whenever I shaved I always had bleeding. Yuck. Sores all up and down. That was until my friend suggested Intuition. No more bleeding and my legs feel softer. Still chicken skin, but that was my gene inheritance.

My legs are totally like yours. I have to shave EVERYDAY but would be better of twice a day to have smooth legs.

In high school my cousin who lived in CA and I decided that we would stop shaving when we got together for Thanksgiving and not shave again until our birthdays at the end of March. I had more leg hair than most of my guy friends in high school. WAy more leg hair than my brothers (how did I get so lucky!?) I wore thick black tights to church and pants the rest of the time. But I remember once at school my best friend gave away my secret to our group of friends and pulled up my pant leg. The guys were so grossed out by my manly leg hair that it took them a good while to get over it. My dad, however, thought I was taking a feminist stand and fully supported me in it.

Does anyone like shaving?? If there are women reading this who do I would advise you to keep quiet be/c you are an anomaly. I HATE shaving, as well. It is one of life's many necessary evils. I try to keep up during the summer but only shave when necessary during the winter. The husband really appreciates that! Haha! What a pain! I have been known to throw on a pair of black tights with a dress or skirt during the winter and as long as my boots are high enough you can't really tell I need to shave - unless you get up close.... and no one needs to be that close to my legs. haha!

I hate shaving as well. Now I shave my arm pits every other day, but my legs maybe once a week. I use to cut my self so much that I have scars on my ankles until I started using intution what a great invention!!

I shave once a week, Saturday (church reason too). Now, truth be told, I could ALMOST go two weeks without NEEDING to shave-- not very hairy over here. But waxing-- BEST THING EVER. Love me a good waxed leg-- the hairs are gone for WEEKS!

well, one time when i was teenager i was marching in a parade and we had to wear white socks. i didn't shave so i put on nude nylons. well, they were actually not nude, they were a light color stocking because nude made my legs look to dark. anyway, later one of the sisters saw me and asked if i was mennonite. nice.

I shave almost everyday. Even if I'm wearing pants. My legs get itchy if I don't shave.

Shaving wastes my time, but has to be done. I am also the 5 o'clock shadow chick. When I was working I would shave my legs everynight in the summer. When I wake up, I would do a dry run to get rid of the little devils that would pop up over night

During the winter I would shave on Friday nights.

Now that I don't work, during the summer, I shave every other day, unless I have to go some where important.

I never shave, maybe once a month sometimes I even go 2. And yes, my legs are a very hairy forest so don't look too closely(especially at church). When my legs look like they could belong to a man, that's when I decide I better shave. I know, gross, but oh well!

hahahhahahaha Oh man. That's so funny! I do not shave every day. Maybe once a week. Maybe every 2-3 days. In the summer, it's more often, but still, not every day. It's so dang time consuming and as soon as I get even a little shiver, it's back to being prickly so I just leave it be. LOL
