So about a week and a half ago was our family Christmas Party. One of my sisters lives about 60 miles away, so she and her family drove up and my parents flew in from NV.
Friday night was the night my mom met Big-D. We all went to eat at this great Thai restaurant. The food was good and I think he quickly realized that my parents are just regular down-to-earth, sometimes a little eccentric type people. We laughed and had a good time. He even blushed a little when not only I, nor my sister, but when my mom told an ever-so-slightly dirty joke. Nothing too racy. Mostly funny and shocking coming from a parental unit.
Saturday everyone gathered at my house for our annualpig-out feast. This year we did short ribs and grilled chicken and of course lots of side dishes and even more desserts. We were stuffed! The kids enjoyed opening their gifts.
Then Sunday, after spending the day with my sister, my parents drove up to my house for a game night with the kids and Big-D. More laughter, more fun, and just a wee bit more slightly-naughty humor. (Thankfully the only child that picked up on it was the 14 year old).
Highlights for the weekend...

Highlights for the weekend...
Watching the three of us (mom, sis & me) guffaw and "wheeze" as I tell a story to my dad, about Big-D and a turtle in its shell (you had to be there).
My daughter punting, and picking out one of her beloved beanie babies and wrapping it up to give to Big-D, cuz she wanted to make sure he had enough presents to open.
Getting Big-D to play "BOB" with my family (another thing that's just an inside family thing).
Here's a few pics my mom was able to snag. Enjoy!
