National Lampoon Weekend Roadtrip!

Anytime I get ready for a road trip, the above images come to mind, and I can't help but hear the song, "Holiday Road" in my head. I mean who can forget the long awaited, much anticipated journey to the extremely underwhelming Wally World Water Park??? Not to mention cruising in the baddest "wagon queen family truckster"? That car was so freakin' awesome!

This weekend is Labor Day weekend. Initially, I was going to take Friday off work to go to Swiss Days - one of Utah's biggest and best craft fairs around. In fact many, if not all of my neighbors, including fellow bloggers, would say that missing such a glorious event would be blasphemous. Truly.

So, I will have to repent now to the Goddess of Swiss Days, as I have had a better, yet still sanctimonious offer. I Am Not Ashamed!

NurseMom & MrBusDr have invited us to their place for the weekend. There is sure to be swimming, thanks to MrBusDr's tireless efforts to get the pool ready (aka, PoolBoy). And we've been told we are attending a luau and to bring our own Aloha Wear. The Coconut Bra definitely fits in the suitcase. However, the 3 off-spring made me promise not to embarrass them, so that's out. There is sure to be "gaming" as well. What would a weekend in Carson City be without Championship Rounds of a game we like to call "Bob"? [EmilyJuice & Ruthykins, you better be there!] Perhaps we will even have a Bob-A-Thon!!! (That's entirely another post.) Oh - And MrBusDr, you're in charge of your Famous Caramel Corn and Dill-Pickle Chips!

Awaaaaaay We Go!!! 1 Mindless Banterer? Check! 3 off-spring? Check. 4-legged-creature? Check. A little money, lots of tunage, a trunkload of junkfood, and The Good Lord willing - a safe journey? Check. Check. Check. And...(with faith) Check!

Please don't worry - we won't be gone long. Besides, I've left the Blog in Good Hands. BigMouthBrenda has agreed to leave the comfort of her single-wide and come on over to "house-sit" while we're away. She may not look like much with her hair up in rollers and the left-side of her house-dress all up in Wedge-Field (I couldn't bring myself to tell her), but she definitely has a gift of gab that you're sure to enjoy - so check back often!

FYI... definitely come back for Friday's Fun Festivities (I've got one scheduled to post at 12:01 am.)

[singing]...I found out long ago It's a long way down the Holiday Road. Holiday Road.......Holiday Road...

Have fun but remember who you are. A mindless Banterer! Which means you better have some good posts when you get back.

Remember if you have TOO much fun then the crash when you come back is that much harder. So heres to having a moderate ammount of fun! :-)

BTW, your comment about country music being an oxymoron will not affect your standing at the blogstalker blog!

I am so late in thanking everyone for visiting me on Monday BATW. I enjoyed each of your visits. Thank you for coming over.
Enjoy your time off. I too am leaving for the weekend so I HAVE to finish my thanks today. I think I have about 15 left. Takes so long because I have to read all of your blogs before I respond.
Have a happy restful and safe weekend and thanks again. I hope you find time to visit me again.

We took a year-long road trip in our converted bus, during which I could not get "King of the Road" out of my head. Sigh. I used to love that song.

I'm going to need to peruse your archives to find out about MrBusDr.

I hope you and the kids have a good time. I can't wait to hear what pretty pretty princess will say when she gets back. She is so funny and I think she is so much like you when she tells a story. I'm also glad to hear that funnyman is going. He told me he wasn't sure awhile ago because of school but I think he could do with some Gram and Grandad. Again have a great time and give hugs for me too. Maybe you could have a moment where you just pause and recognize that I'm probably at home feeling alone, dejected, and bored out of my mind. JK I'm not jealous or anything. But seriously I think you deserve a nice little vacation. SO THERE!!!
